Palash Sanyal works as the Strategic Partnership Specialist at the Global Institute for Water Security, University of Saskatchewan (USask), where he is closely involved with Water Day on the Hill event, Valuing Water Global Assessment Report development with CERES, and water-food nexus/security initiatives.
Palash draws expertise in the areas of water technology, policy, strategy, and economics. Previously, he worked for the USask's School of Environment and Sustainability, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), WaterAid, TEDTalk, and other international agencies. Palash has worked with Stakeholders in remote and vulnerable communities, including the urban pro-poor in Bangladesh and Indigenous communities in Canada.He holds three master's degrees in Development Studies, Environmental Engineering, and Water Security. An experienced Facilitator and Coach, Palash facilitates intercultural dialogues and organizational dispute management since 2012.
Palash is the founding curator for the TEDxUniversityofSaskatchewan and World Economic Forum Global Shapers Hub Saskatoon. He is also an Alumni Ambassador for the Clinton Global Initiative University, and in 2018, he was awarded by Corporate Knights as a Top 30-Under-30 Sustainability Leader in Canada. He was named SYPE Young Professional of the Year, EECOM Outstanding Youth Action Leader, Water Canada's Young Professional of the Year Award in 2019. Palash is a board member for SaskGalleries, and loves to ride his motorbike during his spare time.
