Profile

Professor. Michael Johnson Mahande is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology & Applied Biostatistics at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University (KCMC University) in Tanzania, where he teaches Advanced Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Research Methodology for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students as well as supervision of student projects [Masters & PhDs]. He has over 20 years of extensive experience working with health systems in developing countries, conducting research, program monitoring and evaluations in areas of Reproductive maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH), health system and structural factors associated with pregnancy outcomes and complications, HIV prevention, Family planning and women cancer. Professor Mahande has experiences in research management, analysis of complex data from maternally-linked medical registry & survey data, team building, and working with local and international community organizations to mention a few. He also has wealth of experience in community-based programs and research from both training and field experience.
