"I am committed to providing meaningful solutions to environmental challenges facing Arctic freshwater ecosystems impacted by climate change and legacy contamination, particularly in regions where local communities rely on these ecosystems for vital services and their way of life."

Water Experience

I am a researcher specializing in the impacts of climate change and legacy industrial contamination on Arctic freshwater ecosystems. My work focuses on the Mackenzie Delta uplands of the Northwest Territories, where contaminants from oil and gas drilling operations pose potential risks to the region’s highly interconnected hydrological systems, which provide critical ecosystem services for local communities. I seek to explore the intersections of environmental change, water quality, and community well-being, emphasizing the importance of responsible resource management in vulnerable northern landscapes. I am passionate about improving research practices in Arctic Indigenous communities, advocating for ethical, inclusive, and community-driven approaches to environmental science. I am also passionate about creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for women in fieldwork, particularly on polar expeditions.
