Water Experience
I am the strategic lead for research and innovation at IWMI, overseeing more than 190 scientists (>40% female, >85% Global South researchers) in 10 offices across Asia and Africa, working on water systems challenges from agriculture through to ecosystem dynamics, policy and governance. My specialism is drought risk monitoring and management and I have worked in many countries in the Global South. Gender inequality is exacerbated during droughts and some of my work has focused on why different gender/social groups are vulnerable, and the measures that can support drought mitigation.
