"I am committed to safeguarding our finite freshwater resources through advocacy, leadership, and science. My passion for water stems from my volunteer work. I want to empower youth to become water advocates and protect our water resources."
Water Experience
As an aspiring water advocate, leader, and scientist, I created the Youth Water Advocate Initiative to give a platform to high school youth to conduct water education and outreach at their elementary schools. I am also pursuing my master’s research in the Emerging Contaminants Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University. My thesis looks at identifying persistent, mobile, toxic (PMT) plastic additives in urban wastewater effluent. This research will help address regulatory gaps in the Canadian Environmental Protection Act which currently has no restrictions against PMT substances.
