Overview

Water security is one of the defining global challenges of our era. Would you like to be part of the solution? Are you looking for a rewarding career in the water sector? Are you interested in enhancing your skills and knowledge of water science, engineering, management and policy? The Master of Water Security (MWS) is a unique interdisciplinary professional graduate program designed to train the next generation of Water Security professionals, working in government, industry and NGOs. The MWS program is a joint initiative between School of Environment and Sustainability (SENS) and the Global Institute for Water Security (GIWS).

Program

In 2023-24, the MWS will offer both online and in-person options for sutdents with most courses delivered in a hybrid format. Students will interact with faculty and classmates through our online learning platform, which will facilitate group discussions and presentations, flexible delivery of lecture material, and access to state-of-the-art software for data analysis and modelling. Our world-class water faculty will be available to facilitate your learning, and our professional partners working in the water sector will provide networking opportunities for you. The MWS is a 2-year program that involves 10 compressed (6 week) courses and a professional project undertaken over the summer with an external project partner. Projects may be based in Saskatchewan, Canada-wide, or around the world. See here to view the MWS project repository.
