Biography

Ilja van Meerveld is a Senior Teaching and Research Associate in the Department of Geography at the University of Zurich. She obtained her PhD in 2004 from Oregon State University, and worked at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Simon Fraser University, and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam before joining the University of Zurich. Her main research interests are in hydrological processes and runoff generation mechanisms on hillslopes and in small catchments. She is currently Editor of Water Resources Research.
