Thesis Description:

Kathryn holds a BSc in civil engineering from the University of Manitoba, and an MSc in environmental policy and regulation from the London School of Economics. In addition, she was an Environmental Manager with SNC-Lavalin Inc. Environment Division from January - December 2011. Her research aims to characterize the constituent chemical loading from mature, fine tailings to the overlying water cap in end pit lakes. End pit lakes are a major part of each oil sand operator's reclamation strategy, but their success as a containment system is still unknown.
