Thesis Description

Kurkute Sopan's graduate study focuses on simulating the past (2000-2014) and future (2075-2099) climate over Western Canada using Weather Research and Forecast (WRF) numerial model. The WRF model has been set-up to explicity resolve the atmospheric convection proesses in order to simulate the precipitation with great accuracy. Sopan is also using HYSPLIT model to assess/study the remote moisture source locations assoicated with every extreme precipitation event over Saskatchewan river basin.
