Indrakshi Tandon
Indrakshi Tandon is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the American University in Dubai. She holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University at Albany (SUNY), where her dissertation focused on how postcoloniality, participatory development discourses, and gender-mainstreaming narratives have shaped development outcomes for the Bhil (adivasi) community in central India and impacted national policies. Her research sits at the intersection of gender, environment, and development, with particular interest in participatory and sustainable development, NGOs and civil society, global development theory, and indigenous/tribal studies in South Asia where she has extensive fieldwork experience. Her current work investigates climate change narratives from indigenous perspectives and the inclusion of indigenous knowledge and priorities in climate policy and adaptation planning.
