PhD Defence
PhD Candidate, Magali Nehemy, Successfully Defends Her PhD
Magali Nehemy successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled "The Role of Plant Hydrodynamics and Phenology in Plant Water Source Apportionment" at the University of Saskatchewan, in August of 2021.
Magali's research investigated tree water use, tree hydrodynamics, and transpiration phenology in the Canadian Boreal forest and experimental lysimeter in Switzerland. Her work investigated the ecohydrology of these systems and monitored tree water use and changes in source through time. Magali's work uncovered mechanisms that drive tree water use, when and where trees source water, by monitoring the path of water's stable tracers, isotopes of hydrogen and oxygen, tree physiology, and phenology.
