GIWS at AGU Fall Meeting 2020

GIWS members will be flooding the American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting 2020 with over 60 virtual presentations and sessions. GIWS Executive Director, Jay Familglietti, will also be accepting the 2020 Hydrologic Sciences Award by AGU for his outstanding contributions to the science of water over his career.

Over 25,000 attendees congregate at AGU each year to share their science. This year, the conference will be hosted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting 2020 will be one of the largest virtual scientific conferences and is scheduled from 1-17 December. 

GIWS will have a substantial presence again at this year's AGU, with over 60 GIWS members authoring 54  presentations and posters and convening six sessions and one workshop. GIWS will also be hosting a virtual exhibitors booth throughout the conference - drop by the booth virtually to chat with one of us from GIWS!

2020 Hydrologic Sciences Award - Jay Famiglietti

During AGU, GIWS will be celebrating Executive Director, Jay Famiglietti, as he accepts the 2020 Hydrologic Sciences Award during the Walter Langbein Lecture on Tuesday, December 8 at 12:30 pm CST. This award by AGU recognizes Jay for his outstanding contributions to the science of water over his career. If you are attending AGU this year, please join us for Jay's award acceptance!
