Renowned University of Saskatchewan hydrologist Howard Wheater, who co-leads the world’s largest university-based water research initiative—Global Water Futures (GWF), has been appointed to a distinguished U.S. National Academies panel looking into the future of water resources in the United States.
At least 10 awards valued each at $45,000 per year (up to 3 years) for Canadian and international students entering graduate studies at the University of Saskatchewan announced as part of the Global Water Futures program.
The University of Saskatchewan-led Global Water Futures (GWF) program has funded 11 initial research projects across Canada totaling nearly $16.2 million over the next three years to tackle some of Canada’s most pressing water-related challenges.
Howard Wheater has been awarded the University of Saskatchewan's highest honour for research, the Distinguished Researcher Award, during a convocation ceremony June 8.
